Unpopular opinion: I have very little sympathy for Victor Trevor, unless sympathy somehow translates into the overpowering desire to punch someone in the nose. 

I don’t know for sure if something happened to him, John.

Fuck you very much, sir. Maybe you’re giving Sherlock a chance to tell the story (oh how kind of you), but that doesn’t mean I have to like you for it. 

I don’t think that that’s an unpopular opinion.  Most people I’ve heard from want to strangle Victor, and not without reason.

I can’t imagine that phone conversation going another way, though, honestly.  I mean, Victor could have said “Oh, yeah, that was me, bro, my bad” and John would have strangled him—and he would have sounded remorseless.  People don’t lie about things they’re proud of having done.

I’m not justifying him!  I’m just trying to explain my thoughts on writing the scene.

Ah, now that I’ve read the reactions, no. Not unpopular at all. (I though I saw someone mention having sympathy for VT before I signed off earlier.)

I actually do understand why you chose to write the scene like that. What’s he going to do, fess up? “Oh yeah, about that, John… Back in university, I was high and upset and somehow that translated into raping Sherlock. Oopsie-daisy! I’m really sorry, though!” Nope, never gonna happen. 

He may be sorry and not at all proud of what he did, but I still want to hang his ass from the nearest tree. And now John’s just going to want to kill him more when he does find out - if he ever finds out.
